What a PrizePicks slip actually demands
Payout tables read from prizepicks.com's own help centre on 25 August 2026. These tables move; the date is part of the data.
A pick'em slip prices every pick as a coin flip, so the operator's entire margin lives in the payout schedule. Two numbers tell you what any slip really costs: the hit rate every pick must average just to break even, and the share of your stake the schedule keeps if the picks really are coin flips. Both are pure arithmetic on the published table. Here they are, computed once, honestly.
Power Play
| Picks | Pays | Every pick must be | Sportsbook equivalent | Kept at coin-flip picks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 3x | 57.74% | -137 | 25.0% |
| 3 | 6x | 55.03% | -122 | 25.0% |
| 4 | 10x | 56.23% | -128 | 37.5% |
| 5 | 20x | 54.93% | -122 | 37.5% |
| 6 | 37.5x | 54.66% | -121 | 41.4% |
Notice the ladder is not monotone in difficulty: a 4-pick demands more per pick (56.23%) than a 3-pick or a 6-pick. Adding a leg can make the slip easier to beat, which nothing in the app's own presentation tells you.
Flex Play
| Picks | Tiers | Every pick must be | Kept at coin-flip picks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 2x / 0.5x | 61.80% | 25.0% |
| 3 | 3x / 1x | 57.74% | 25.0% |
| 4 | 6x / 1.5x | 55.03% | 25.0% |
| 5 | 10x / 2x / 0.4x | 54.25% | 25.0% |
| 6 | 25x / 2x / 0.4x | 54.21% | 32.8% |
Three things the tables hide
The 2-pick Flex is the most expensive product on the board. Its expected return works out to p² + p, so break-even solves to the golden ratio conjugate: you need 61.8% winners on picks priced as 50/50. The "insurance" costs four full points of required skill versus the 2-pick Power.
Two Flex slips contain a worthless pick. Expand the 3-pick Flex schedule algebraically and it collapses to exactly the 2-pick Power; the 4-pick Flex collapses to the 3-pick Power. In both, the last pick contributes zero expected value at every probability. It only adds variance.
These numbers are a floor, not the whole payout. PrizePicks settles peer to peer; the published table is its documented minimum guarantee, with a leaderboard share on top that is worth at most 1 to 3 points of your entry and cannot be computed in advance. Demons and goblins, which made up 82% of the live board when we measured it, have no published multiplier at all, and the operator reserves an unpublished reduction for two picks from the same game. The number that decides your slip is the one on your own submission screen.
